Reports to: Senior Project Manager
Job Summary: Leads the Project Team and bears the entire responsibility to expedite the works within the parameters defined either by the contract and Company requirements.
Responsibilities
- Executing the project on time, within budget and in accordance with the Specifications;
- Ensuring that the quality of materials and the installation of work are in accordance with the criteria identified for the project;
- Following up of the preparation of Bid Summaries in conjunction with the Contracts / Commercial Departments;
- Recommending the award of subcontract work in accordance with the Procedure of P330;
- Receiving of all relevant information regarding design, drawings and Engineering;
- Reviewing with the site staff and the Planning Engineer the detailed programs for the execution of the project;
- All aspects of the project QESH Management system;
- Ensuring that suitably qualified personnel required for the project are mobilised in a timely manner, as required;
- Follow up all aspects related for project health, safety and security;
- Follow up with the purchasing section for the procurement of materials;
- Reviewing the manpower requirements for the project in accordance with QESH Procedure P120 ;
- Ensure proper material planning in accordance with QESH Procedure of P410;
- Compilation of all necessary progress reports in accordance with Procedure P410 and Clients Requirements;
- Attending meetings with the Consultant, Client and Subcontractors;
- Issuing instructions to the Subcontractors;
- Identifying and taking the necessary corrective action to improve the progress and / or quality of work as per requirements of Procedure P820;
- Handling of project matters related to invoices and payments;
- Receiving and auctioning project correspondence as per Procedure P140;
- Writing project correspondence with other relevant staff;
- Staff training and appraisal as per Procedure P120;
- Follow up of execution of works according with the Quality Plan and agreed procedures and method statements;
- Issuing instructions to the Construction Manager to complete the work in accordance with Project Planning and Schedules and allocation resources;
- Monitoring all Subcontractors work closely to ensure that the quality of the work is as per specification and is completed on time;
- Reviewing of short-term planning together with the Construction Manager;
- Monitoring and compiling relevant information of production rates together with the Construction Manager;
- Conducting daily meetings with the site staff to organize work for the day / next day;
- Handling of variations including supervision of submittals and negotiations;
- Public relations with project owner and consultants;
- Report and update to management the progress on regular basis as per Procedure P410;
- Follow up of timely preparation and submittal of “As built Drawings” and “O&M Manuals”;
- Review the invoice to Client before issuing;
- Co-ordination with Subcontractors and supplier
- Performing any other tasks as assigned by the Senior Project manager.

- Good project management skills, operating as part of a team organizing, planning, and executing large-scale and complex projects from conceptual phase to implementation;
Other Job Requirements:
- Reports as per the Procedure P410 and
- As agreed with the Client in the Project Quality Plan.
Educational Qualifications and Experience:
- BSc qualification in engineering; PRINCE 2 or PMP or other Project Management certification will be considered as an advantage;
- More than 20 years’ experience in the construction of major projects with 7- 10+ years of project management experience or in similar roles;
- Must have good knowledge and experience of Quality Assurance and HSE;
- Broad knowledge of the construction phases; including tendering, planning, management and control, operational control and project delivery/completion.
